Whiterocks Natural Amphitheater – Snow Canyon

The trail to this natural amphitheater, in a beautiful white rock formation, leaves SR18 just north of the north entrance to the Snow Canyon State Park. Because this trail travels into the State Park it requires paying the park fee to enter.

Getting There

Snow Canyon State Park is located just north of Ivins Utah.

If travelling north from St George, take SR18, North Bluff Street, to the Snow Canyon Parkway. Turn left at the light onto this parkway and travel 4.0 miles to Snow Canyon Drive. Turn right and travel north 0.7 miles to the south entry fee station.

If travelling from the north on SR18, exit at the State Park sign and travel south a short distance to the north unmanned fee station. From here it is 4.0 miles to the south entry booth.

The Whiterocks Amphitheater Trailhead is 0.5 miles north of the north entrance to Snow Canyon State Park on SR18.

The Trail

The trail is flat hard packed sand until you reach the slickrock amphitheater. You walk up the slickrock slope to the top of the amphitheater for beautiful views of the white rocks. The ascent is about 100 feet vertical.
